Japanese Goods

Sir, —Regarding the question of admitting these goods into New Zealand, I think it will be found that the people themselves will settle the matter by their own conscience and regardless of political or economical considerations. In the end it is the public who pay, aijd it will be th? public who will decide what they will buy. I know no one who would buy anything made by these people, no matter how cheap the goods may be. You can lead a horse to the water but you can’t makg him drink, so it seems that any controversy over the matter is just a waste of time, together with any rules, regulations or importations that may be made. —I am, etc..
