WAGE FIXATION ORDER

Agricultural Workers

An order fixing the wages of agricultural workers appears in last night’s Gazette. The order is cited as “The Agricultural Workers’. Fixation Order, 1937,” and will operate from November 1, 1937, to July 31, 1938, and thereafter until a further Order-in-Council is made. In the wages clause the minimum rates payable to agricultural workers on dairy farms are as follows: — Workers under the age of 17 years, 18/6 a week; 17 but under 18, £l/4/-; 18 but under 19, £l/9/-; 19 but under 20, £l/14/6; 20 but under 21, £l/19/6; 21 and over, £2/5/-.
