ITALIAN AMBASSADOR

Believed Recalled From Paris By II Duce Paris, November 1. The Japanese Ambassador was among those present at tlie station when the Italian Ambassador, Signor Vittorio Cerutti, left for Milan. According to Italian commentators, Signor Cerutti is going on holiday, but it is believed his departure is Signor Mussolini’s reply to France's nonreplacement of M. Chambrun, the French Ambassador to Rome when he retired last year, as a new Ambassador’s credentials would involve recognition of the King of Italy as Emperor of Abyssinia. France and Italy are now represented in each other's capitals by charges d'affaires. Signor Prunes has been appointed Charge d’Affaires in Paris.

A Berlin message says that the recall of the Italian Ambassador from Paris caused a sensation.
