Vice-Regal. The Governor-General, Lord Galway, presided at a meeting of the Executive Council yesterday morning. The Speakers of both Houses of Parliament, attended by several members of the Legislature, presented to the Governor-General the Addresses-in-Re-ply to the Speech delivered by his Excellency on the occasion of the recent opening of Parliament. Lord and Lady Galway were present at the Navy League luncheon yesterday. The Hon. Sir Francis Frazer, deputychairman of the Executive Commission of Agriculture, left for the south last night. The Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes and Mrs. Forbes, Cheviot, were passengers to Wellington by the steamer express yesterday. Mr. P. S. Gillingham, Wellington, returned from a visit to Christchurch yesterday. The Hon. W. Hayward, M.L.C., left for Christchurch by the steamer express last night. Mr. S. G. Phillips, has returned to Wellington after visiting the South Island. Mr. H. Whyte, who has been visiting Christchurch, returned to Wellington by the steamer express yesterday. Mr. A. W. Clapp, Dunedin, arrived at Wellington from the south by the steamer express yesterday. Mr. G. L. Laurenson, Commissioner of Transport, returned to Wellington yesterday after visiting Auckland. Mr. G. A. Lewin, Dunedin, arrived at Wellington yesterday to attend a meeting of the State Advances Corporation. The Very Rev. Father 11. V. Bird, C.S.S.R., Superior of the Redemptorist Order in New Zealand, has returned to Wellington after visiting Auckland. Mr. 11. A. Beauchamp, managingdirector of Kodak (New Zealand), Limited, returned to Wellington by the Limited express yesterday. Messrs. G. R. Ritchie and C. W. Rattray, Dunedin, directors of the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand, Limited, are on a business visit to Wellington. Mr. W. Clarke, Dunedin, arrived at Wellington yesterday to attend a meeting of the National Council of the New Zealand Federation of Labour. Captain Dai Evans, formerly chief accountant to the Rhodesian Railways, will arrive at Auckland from the East by the Van Rees on December 9 for a two months’ visit to New Zealand. Commissioner and Mrs. F. Adams, Lieut-Colonel A. Scotney, and Colonel F. C. Lurch, of the Salvation Army, left Wellington last night on a visit to Christchurch. Mr. J. M. Elliffe, Mr. E. D. Wilkinson and Mr. D. H. Steen, arrived at Wellington by the Limited express yesterday, to attend a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Society of Accountants. Dr. Alan Tennent, Wellington, returned to Wellington yesterday. He was medical officer to the New Zealand Coronation Contingent aud he later engaged in professional work in London and at the Mayo Clinic, America.
