Stanley .Matthews, who told Constable J. J. Culloty that he left his driving licence at home, but admitted five days later he had no licence, was fined £l, ajid costs 1.0/-, for driving without a licence. The magistrate said ho increased the fine because Matthews did not tell the truth. Hector Robbie, Lower Hutt, who drove a motor-cycle when the only driver's licence he had was for a motorear, was fined 5/- and eosts 10/- for riding a motor-eyele without a licence. Harold John Burbidge, IVcllington. was lined 10/- and costs 10/- for driving a ear without a licence. Paul Paulsen, Lower Hutt, who cycled du the railway footbridge between Mocra and Gear Island, was fined 10/- and eosts 10/-. ■
