WOMEN’S CRICKET

College Old Girls’ Club

The opening day of the College Old Girls’ Cricket Club was held last Saturday at Nairn Street Park, Wellington, under ideal weather conditions. Mrs. M . O Bock, vice-president, of the club, bowled the first ball of the season to another vice-president, Mrs. J. Hatcher, and the season was declared open. Two teams played an exhibition match. Miss I. Pickering’s team beating Miss D. Hitcher’s team. The best scores were those of Misses D. Hitcher 40 retired, J. Stenberg 36 ™ d . red ’ ' ,nd Pickering 26 retired. Judging from the form shown so early in the season, the chib should enjoy a good season.
