RONGOTAI ACTIVITIES

Flying a Percival Gull machine, Flight Lieutenant S. Burrell, of the Civil Aviation Department, left Rongotai Aerodrome at 6.30 a.m. yesterday for Auckland. After examining candidates for licences he flew to New Plymouth and Wanganui on a similar task, returning to Wellington at 5.15 p.m. Squadron Leader A. de Ncvill, hying the Public Works Department’s Whitney Straight, with Mr. P. C. Weenink as passenger, left for Christchurch at 3.25 p.m. Mr. L. Ransom, an R.A.F. trainee, flew to Pahnerstou North in the Miles Hawk, and Mr. A. Rose, flying the Wellington Aero Club’s Whitney Straight, made a return trip to Blenheim with one passenger.
