MANY ARRESTS IN PALESTINE
Round-up Of Arab Higher Committee (Received October 2, 1.45 a.m.) Cairo, October 1. Many arrests are reported to have followed the rejection of a demand amounting to an ultimatum from the Arabs that the 200 arrested in connection with the murder of the Galilee District Commissioner, Mr. L. Y. Andrews, should be released. The authorities are believed to have decided to round up all t-he members of the Arab Higher Committee. The Grand Mufti has taken refuge in a mosque at Omar. Telephonic communication in Palestine has been suspended. Considerable police and military activity is expected.
