“Devil’s Own” Tournament Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, September 27. . Golfers from Wellington, Wairarapa, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, and Wanganui attended the annual “devil’s own’’ golf tournament which was conducted by members of the Palmerston North Law Society on the Manawatu Goif Club’s links at Hokowhitu during the week-end. Saturday was devoted to the qualifying rounds, the 16 leading the list winning a place in the “Devil’s Own” Cup contest, and the finals were played to-day, C. N. Armstrong defeating B. Vickerman in the final for the trophy. The teams match was won by Wellington, represented by G. C. Phillips, B. Vickerman, W. S. T.. Till, and J. W. Ward. In the “Guarantee” Handicap J. A. Grant and A. M. Ongley tied with 73. The “Cy-press” Handicap was won by C. N. Armstrong with 71, and the “Certiorari” bo"ey by W. C. Deem. The “Public Trust” bogey went to B. Vickerman, 6 up.
