(Received September 15, 1.30 a.m.) Nuremburg, September 14. On the eve of the Nyon agreement Herr Hitler launched a fierce attack on Republican Spain. Addressing the closing session of the Nazi Congress, he said it was ridiculous to icgard Jewish Bolsheviks as the legal Government in Spain.

England and France maintained great interests which involved Spam, but how Spain was governed did not concern them. They had no more right to political interests in Spain than they had in Germany. England and France might pretend to be disturbed lest Spain was occupied by Italy and Germany, but Germany was horrified at ths possibility of a Russian conquest of Spain. , . “We refuse to take advice from statesmen lacking our knowledge and experience,” he said. “If Spain is 80l shevised, Germany’s economic existence will be endangered. ’ The British Empire might regard the future of Spain with indifference and might even have increased trade with Spain by accepting stolen, gold, but a lasting and solid commercial exchange could not be built up on the activities of thieves and receivers. Germany did not desire to play the part of a politico-economic hermit and was willing to co-operate with all sharing her views on the European situation.
