Intervention in Spain
Sir, —“Ex-Infantry” is still worried as to the documents displayed at the W.E.A. lectures. We can neither of us prove them genuine, qr the reverse, but I have done my best to show him that the news in the daily papers all tends to support them. I am interested to read that the rest of my letter is a re-hash of “Popular Front” pamphlets, because I have never seen any. If “Ex-Infantry” will turn to page 9 of Saturday’s “Dominion” he will find that Mr. Winston Churchill seems to regard the Gibraltar question rather seriously: is he classed as a “pink” or a “red?” I think “Ex-Infantry” is straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel. It is not the “Comintern” that is pushing Europe to the verge of war, but the threj; Fascist Countries, Japan, Italy and Germany. Propaganda of any kind finds a fertile breeding ground in ignorance, so leave the W.EA.. a free hand.—l am, etC ” EX-DIGGER. Lower Hutt, September 11.
