The barometer showed a rising tendency, the reading at 5 p.m. being 30.15 in. Christchurch. — Fine and sunny, with a light easterly breeze. The barometer fell slightly and registered 29.88 in. at 5 p.m. Dunedin. — Fine and mild, though the sky was dull at times and rain threatened in the late afternoon. The maximum temperature was 55deg. The barometer rose iu the afternoon and read 29.90 in. in the early evening.
