PERCHERON STALLION

Thoroughbred Imported For

Gisborne

Bringing back a three-year-old Percheron stallion, believed to be only the third horse of its breed in the Dominion, Mr. W. D. Lysnar and his daughter, Miss W. Lysnar, of Gisborne, returned to 'Wellington yesterday by the Awatea. The stallion was purchased by Miss Lysnar from the well-known Kadlunga stud of Mr. A. J. Melrose, near Mintaro, South Australia. He is called Kadlunga Templar. The colt was sired by Paragon, an Imported blood Pereheron that won prizes in Canada and England from the French prize-winner Rhum. The breed is a type of light French draught horse, which, when crossed with a light thoroughbred mare, will produce a splendid solid hack or hunter. Kadlunga Templar appeared none the worse for a rough Tasman crossing when he was landed yesterday. Ho is being transported by float to Gisborne.
