AUSTRALIAN FARMERS
New Zealand Party Leader’s Criticism
ANOTHER VISITOR’S REPLY
By Telegraph—Press Association.
Auckland, September 13,
“I wish to dissociate myself from the remarks made by Mr. J. Moore. Ashburton, in reference to Australian farmers,” writes Mr. L. W. Keals, Onewiiero, who was a member of the party of New Zealand farmers which recently toured Queensland and New South Wales under the leadership of Mr. Moore.
“I fully support Mr. D. C. Aubrey, Cattle Flat, Wanaka, in his statement. Mr. Moore's remarks are most discourteous to the splendid Australian people we met during our tour,” continued Mr.'Kcals. "They showed us excellent hospitality. Mr. Moore’s remarks are altogether too sweeping in character, and he had no authority to include all members of the party in the statements he made. Personally, I was much impressed with the greatness of the country and the achievements of the people.” Mr. Keals stated it was hardly fair to criticise the hospitable Australian farmer who was up against such a severe drought. It was not surprising they were indignant at Mr. Moore’s criticism.
