LUXURY LINER

Bremen Expected to Visit

New Zealand

ROUND-THE-WORLD CRUISE

Supporting the forecast made in “The Dominion” on Friday, that there was a strong possibility of tourist traffic being diverted from the East to New Zealand as a result of Sino-Japmrese tension, the Minister in Charge of the Tourist and Publicity Department, Hon. F. Langstone, has received information that Hie world cruise of the luxury liner Bremen will now most likelv' include the Dominion. I tis proposed that the Bremen should arrive at, Milford on April 4, ’Wellington April 5, Auckland April 7, and leave Auckland again on the evening of April 9. Messrs. Raymond and Whitcomb, travel agents, of Boston, United States of America, are responsible for planning the cruise, and a request has been received from them by the Tourist Department to undertake all arrangements fo r sight-seeing tours by the passengers during their brief visit. It is estimated that the Bremen will carry only about 500 passengers, all travelling first class, since the cruise is distinctly of a luxury nature. While this will be by no means the first visit of an American round-the-world cruise ship—the Franconia and Carinthia having been here on several occasions—the Bremen is much larger than any ship yet to enter New Zealand ports.
