Union Secretary’s Comment

Discussing the Arbitration Court’s pronouncement on standard wages, Mr. F. L. Turley, secretary of the New Zealand Timber Workers’ Union, said he disagreed with the court’s decision. He considered that, an unskilled labourer should receive at least 19/- a day, and a skilled worker 25/-.
