Miss Jean Batten. It is stated at Mascot Aerodrome, where her aeroplane is being overhauled, that Miss Jean Batten is contemplating an attack on the solo flight record from Australia to England, says a Sydney cablegram. Miss Batten has not’divulged her plans. « # * Englishman’s Arrest in Russia.

A Moscow report says John Kirk, an English amateur actor and playwright, was arrested and questioned for three hours for photographing a production of G. B. Shaw’s "The Apple Cart." at a dramatic festival. He alleges that he was detained in an office under a 'barrage of questions from a score of policemen.

Vatican Theft. The police arrested four people i connection with the theft of money and goods from the apartments of the Master of the Pope’s Bedchamber, states a message from Vatican City.
