BOYS BEFORE COURT

Twenty-three Charges

Three boys were brought before the Children’s Court at Wellington on Saturday morning as a result of a large number of robberies in Kilbirnie and Miramar. Twenty-three charges of breaking, entering and theft, conversion to their own use of cycles and damage were brought against them. They admitted the offences, which were nearly all of breaking, entering and theft, and mostly committed by two of the boys, who are brothers. The two brothers were placed under the charge of the child welfare officer for three years. The elder is to live at an orphanage until there is a vacancy at a special school, and the younger, who is to continue living at home, was admonished by Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M. The other boy was remanded for three months.
