McCune Retains Badr?s At the winter bowling green in the winter show buildings on Saturday afternoon, McCune’s rink succeeded in staving off another challenge for the muchcoveted badges. The result of the game was as follows: Urquhart, Lonsdale, Dunean, McCune (s.), 27; W. Moult, E. Moult, Estall, Couder (s.), 22. Friendly games were played as follows (skips of rinks only being mentioned) : Watts beat F. Hoss, 25-18; Hughes beat Roberts, 19-17; MeWhannell beat Hale, 19-18; Burbidge beat A. Ross, 1918; Taylor beat Ricketts, 23-15; Fletcher beat Ulmer, 23-16. House Cup. The seventh round of the House Cup competition played during last week resulted as follows: — Section A: Ford Motors beat Ideal Dairy, 23-19; City Council beat Kirkcaldie’s, 25-19; Self Help beat Avery Motors, 23-20. Section B: “Evening Post” beat Hannah’s. 21-7; Geo. Lang and Co. beat Smith and Smith, 23-21. Tn this tournament the City Council rink has won section A and will have to wait until the winner of section B is determined. This section will near finality on Thursday evening of this week when Geo. Lang and Co. will meet Globe Printing and Topp and Neilson will meet “Truth.” Inter-club Bowls. To-morrow evening, commencing at 7 o'clock, there will be a series of games between the Hataitai and 'Wellington Bowling Clubs, and on the following Thursday Island Bay will try conclusions with Victoria. The P. and T. Tournament. The Post and Telegraph tournament which has been in progress for the last two months was won by Cox’s rink.
