FIRE IN ADELAIDE ROAD
Quantity of Furniture Damaged
A carelessly-thrown cigarette was the cause of a fire in a private garage used for the storage of furniture at 2i>6 Adelaide Road, Wellington, yesterday morning. Both the furniture, which was the yiroperty of Mr. Arthur de Lacey, and the garage, which is owned by Mrs. L. J. Oxley, were damaged. One wall of an adjoining two-story house was also slightly burned by the flames. It is owned by Mr. C. Richardson, and occupied by Jlr. A. Hawthorn. Slight damage by fire was done shortly after midday yesterday to a locked sedan car owned by Mr. Thomas Stevenson. 142 Adelaide Road. The L ear was parked in Harris Street,
