REX THEATRE

“The Mau I Marry,” a rollicking comedy, is one of two films at the Rex Theatre. The star of the picture is Doris Nolan, a new screen personality who previously scored a hit on the Broadway stage in “Night of January 16th.” The story relates the adventures of a girl who runs away front one wedding, to become entangled in romance with a man who resents the idea that women should shape his destiny. The humour of the picture revolves about the resulting conflict between these central figures. In “Night Key” Boris Karloff makes an amazing rightabout face, tosses away the monster mask and steps forth as a thoroughly likeable human being. He needs no make-up to prove his ability as a splendid dramatic actor. Karloff portrays an inventor of burglar alarm systems. When his partner cheats him of his patents, thereby robbing his daughter of security in life, he wrecks his enemy’s burglar alarm system and defies police, gangsters —everybody—to force his foe to give him his rights.
