LARGE FAMILIES

Johnsonville Eclipsed Johnsonville families are “not so larfie” according to a letter received from one of “The Dominion’s” readers at Pohangina. It was stated recently that Johnsonville was remarkable for its large families, one instance being a family of 10. This number is made to seem small when compared with the I’ohangina correspondent's claim. “Mrs. Jimmy Marshall, wife of a wellknown settler of Pohangina, has just presented her husband with his twentieth child,” states the letter. “All the children are living, the eldest being 36; IS of these children are registered at Ashhuyst and two at Levin.”
