Rugby Broadcasts

Sir, —Just a few lines to protest against the broadeasting of football through all the main stations. Last Saturday 3YA started broadcasting the Hunt Club meeting, but as soon as the Spring-bok-Taranaki match began the racing relay was transferred to 3YL. There are probably just as many listeners in this part of - the country who wish to listen to racing broadcasts as there are listeners desirous of hearing the football relay. Everyone could listen to the football if things were managed properly. IYA, 2YA and 4YA could give out the football and let 3YA keep to the racing. The first-mentioned stations would cover the whole of. the country for football fans. In Wanganui it is impossible to get 3YD in daylight.

Last Saturday afternoon all that could be received here was football, football and more football. We can even get Dunedin m daylight, and that should be sufficient proof that the football business i® overdone. Let us hope that on Saturday and Saturday week 3YA will be allowed to carry on with the racing broadcasts nnd give satisfaction to the majority. 3YL could carry on with the football and anyone not in range of that station would be in range of either 2YA or 4YA.—I am, etc.,

, J- O’BRIEN, Wanganui, August 4.
