FORTY YEARS IN THE POST
Order That Went Astray A letter which has been travelling round the world for forty years has just been returned to a merchant in Jaroslaw. near Lwow, Poland. On March 9, 1897, Francis Nowak, of Jaroslaw. sent a business letter to a firm in Budapest, named Braun Fleischmann. In the letter was an order for some goods and a cheque for 2000 Austrian kronen. Last month the letter was returned to its sender with the remark that Braun Fleischmann “cannot be found.”
