YESTERDAY’S WEATHER
Wellington.—A cloudy, gloomy day, with a gentle south-easterly breeze prevailing. The minimum temperature on Tuesday night was 45.3 deg., the maximum yesterday 52deg., and the temperature at 3 p.m. 47.8 deg. Palmerston North.—Steady rain set in on Tuesday evening and continued throughout the night, but it eased off at 11 a.m. There was a light breeze from the west. The barometer is rising again. Masterton. —Fine and sunny, with passing clouds ; light westerly winds ; warm temperatures. Wanganui.—Cloudy at times, but no rain ; fresh westerly breeze ; sea moder, ate; barometer rising. Waipukurau.—Beautifully _ fine, with bright sunshine and spring-like conditions. Napier and Hastings.—A beautiful sunny day, with a light south-west wind. Auckland. —Overcast but fine conditions, with a light southerly wind, ruled during the day, temperatures being mild. The barometer pressure at 5 p.in. was steady at 29.90 in. Christchurch. —The weather was cold and showery early to-day, with a fresh south-west wind. Later, the sky cleared and the wind dropped, the afternoon being fine and sunny. The barometer was unsteady, and registered 29.82 in. at 5 p.m. Dunedin. —There was bright sunshine all day to-day, but a cold breeze from the south-west kept temperatures low, the maximum being 48deg.
