WAIPUKURAU STOCK SALE
Demand For Store Sheep Dominion Special Service. Waipukurau, August 3. Only moderately large yardings came forward at the weekly Waipukurau stuck sale to-day. Store sheep was the bestfilled section and met a good demand, 102 attractive ewe hoggets, on behalf .of Mr. J. McPhee, Norsewood, realising 34/4, 68 others 30/-, and a small pen of forward wether hoggets 29/10. A line of mixed aged good ewes, running with Romney rams, made 33/6; two-tooth ewes, in lamb to Southdowns, 34/11, and a line of sound ewes in good order, heavily in lamb, 31/6. A pen of fat and forward wethers brought 26/-; fat woolly ewes, medium sized, 20/4, and a better-grown line 32/9 ; twelve solid-grown fat wethers, 32/6; others, 28/- and 27/9. A mixed offering of woolly ewe and wether hoggets, 32/-. A young Red Poll cow from Omakere headed the fat cattle at £B/15/-, and a good-framed Hereford in prime order sold for £B/6/6. Seventeen medium-grown P.A. cows brought £7/6/-. A few fairly good steers and heifers made £6/17/6.
