Te Aro Railway Station (From “The Dominion,” August 6, 1913.) For some weeks past a Railway League has been canvassing for signatures to a petition urging the extension of the Te Aro Railway Station and the erection there of a goods shed. The matter cropped up yesterday at the monthly meeting of the Council of ■ the Wellington Chamber of Commerce. On the motion of Mr. E. G. Pilcher the council resolved to make representations to the Minister for Railways urging the closing of the Te Aro railway line with a view to avoiding the greajt waste of money no'w incurred in the useless running of trains between the terminus and the Te Aro station. * * * Miss Isaacs, daughter of Mr. Justice Isaacs, who was appointed his associate, took her seat at the High Court yesterday. It is the first time a lady has ever appeared in an official capacity in the New South Wales Law Courts.
