TOWNSWOMEN'S GUILD

First Meeting of Brooklyn Branch The first monthly meeting of the Townswomen’s Guild was held recently in the Methodist schoolroom, ' Mrs. Orr presiding over a large attendance. Mrs. J. Pew, Dominion chairwoman and organiser of the New Zealand Union of Townswomen’s Guilds, was the speaker, and gave an interesting talk on the activities of the organisation. Mrs. Andrews demonstrated the cutting and making of a rucked satin cushion. Elocutionary items were given by Mrs. McNabb and Mrs. Stinson. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. Cracknell and Mrs. Batson. A vote of thanks was given to Mrs. Pow and to those who had contributed toward making the afternoon an enjoylable one,
