Wellington.— lt was a beautifully fine and gunny day in Wellington yesterday, with a light northerly wind. Warm sunshine, a cloudless sky and a westerly breeze. Auckland. — After a fine but cold morning light showers, with a fresh west-south-west wmd, were experienced in the afternoon. Temperatures were cold. The barometer has a rising tendency, the reading at 5 p.m. being 30.05 in. Christchurch.— Fine and sunny with a light south-west wind. The barometer rose sharply during the day and registered 29.78 in. at 5 p.m. Dunedin.— Cold and wintry, a strong south-westerly breeze being accompanied by scattered showers of rain. The maximum temperature was 49deg. The barometer rose steadily during the day.
