YESTERDAY’S WEATHER
Wellington.— lt was a beautifully fine and gunny day in Wellington yesterday, with a light northerly wind. The minimum temperature during Wednesday night was 43.6 deg., and the maximum yesterday was OS.Tdeg. The temperature at 3 p.m. yesterday was 55.7 deg. Palmerston North.— Fine and bright with passing clouds; fairly strong westerly wind. The barometer showed an up, ward tendency. Masterton.— Beautifully fine and sunny; practically no wind. Wanganui.'— Sunny all day with a strong westerly wind of almost gale force. At Wanganui Heads seas were heavy in the morning but moderate in the afternoon. Waipukuraii.—A slight frost in the morning was followed by a beautiful sunny day. The glass was steady. Napier and Hastings.—A glorious springlike day. Warm sunshine, a cloudless sky and a westerly breeze. Auckland. — After a fine but cold morning light showers, with a fresh west-south-west wmd, were experienced in the afternoon. Temperatures were cold. The barometer has a rising tendency, the reading at 5 p.m. being 30.05 in. Christchurch.— Fine and sunny with a light south-west wind. The barometer rose sharply during the day and registered 29.78 in. at 5 p.m. Dunedin.— Cold and wintry, a strong south-westerly breeze being accompanied by scattered showers of rain. The maximum temperature was 49deg. The barometer rose steadily during the day.
