Wanganui Hospital’s New Swimming Pool Dominion Special Service Wanganui, July 28. Last May it was recommended by Dr. Robertson, of the Department of Health, when visiting the Wanganui hospital, that-a swimming pool be built for the treatment of infantile paralysis patients, and that extra masseuses should be appointed to the staff. In June a contract was let for the erection of the building, and the bath, together with the drainage, was completed by the board’s own staff. The pool, which is filled with 1500 gallons of warm water every morning, was put into operation on June 22. and at present 21 patients are being treated twice a day. Two extra masseuses have been appointed to the massage staff.

The total cost of the swimming pool was £2BO, of which the Wanganui branch of the New Zealand Crippled Children Society donated £lO9.
