AIR MAIL DELAYED

Postponement of Ship’s Departure Dominion Special Service Auckland, July 29. Some inconvenience was caused at Auckland to-day through the failure of a cargo steamer to sail for Australia witii air mail to connect with the Aus-tralia-Singapore-England service. As a result there will be no further connection with the service until the departure for Sydney next Friday of the Monterey. Mail notices to-day advised that the cargo motor-ship Hauraki would sail with air mail from Port Chalmers to Melbourne, an indirect route which would have resulted in Hie mail arriving at London on August 19. Tile departure of t'he Hauraki, however, was postponed until Monday, and air mail letters received for forwarding south by train to-night will now not be dispatched for another week.
