Wellington.—Fine and sunny with a strong and squally north-westerly wind prevailing. The minimum temperature on Tuesday night was 35.6 deg., and tlie maximum temperature yesterday was 5-kleg. The temperature at 3 p.m. yesterday was 52.8i1eg. Palmerston North. —Dull and threatening with a strong and keen wind from the west. Masterton. —Fine and sunny, with passing clouds; moderate westerly wind. Wanganui.—Dull and overcast for the most part, with occasional sunshine; fresh north-westerly wind. Waipukurau. —A very heavy frost in tlie early morning was followed by a bright, sunny day. Napier and Hastings.—A spring-like day with bright, warm sunshine throughout. Auckland.—Showery conditions with a light to moderate south-west, wind were ex)>erieuced during the day. Temperatures were cold. The barometer was steady until midday, when it began to full, the reading at 5 p.m. being 29.95iu. Clu-istcliurch.—Fine and sunny, the temperature reaching 64.1 deg. A fresh north-west wind was blowing. The barometer registered 29.45 in. at 5 p.m., and was rising. Dunedin. —The sun shone brightly in the morning, but the sky was overcast in the afternoon, and there was a cold breeze from the south-west. The maximum temperature was 52dcg. The barometer was steady at 29.50 in. until the afternoon, when it rose to 29.56 in.
