British Women Pioneers Prove Ability YOUNG women pioneers with ability to strike out for themselves are creating their own jobs. One thousand girls and women put on the rood to success by the British Women’s Employment Federation have I taken up unusual occupations. Among others helped by the federation during the year were girls who became harbour officials, college bursars, aviators, piano tuners, stockbrokers. squint-clinic workers, club leaders, industrial nurses, appeal secretaries, farm bailiffs, “special-service” garage proprietors, surveyors, school I dieticians, auctioneers, and X-ray photographers. j In the federation office thousands | who are not satisfied to stick all their I lives at. £2OO to £2-10 have received advice, inspiration and often loans. "Small loans have nine times out of 10 saved a girl's entire future,” said the organising secretary.
