She died at Wei lington Hospital on July 22. while undergoing an operation for goitre. Dr. S. I). Ithind said that cardiac <•<■: lapse occurred during the operation, while the woman was under anaesthetic. "This very tragic wcurrence is well known to take place in such cases, and could no r have been foreseen, or prevented,” said the doctor.
