FIVE O’CLOCK PARTY
Miss V. Sladden Entertains
Alias Vida Sladden, wearing a frock of bottle-green taffetas, with velvet collar and buttons, was hostess on Friday at her home in Woburn Road, Lower Hutt, at a five o’clock cocktail party, in honour of Miss Helen Moodie, Weliiiigton, and Mr. Tom Harty, Belmont, Lower Hutt, whose marriage takes place shortly. Miss Moodie wore a prune-brown woollen suit and tam beret of the same tone. In the drawing-room, dining-room and hall, a riot of spring flowers, ieeland poppies, and red berries from the beautiful garden, were much admired, and glowing log fires dispelled any tinge of chilliness. Over cocktails and hot savouries the bride and bridegroom received many felicitations from their fellow guests, of whom there were about sixty. Airs. Sladden’s frock was of blue floral chiffon, Mrs. Aloodie being in black and white. The hostess is to be a bridesmaid, and the other three maids, Misses Joyce and Sheila Aloodie, and Frances Harty, were also present.
