Port Nicholson Club 0. DISLEY’S FORM 'Die Port Nicholson Cycling Club held a 33-mile time trial on Saturday in wintry conditions. Head winds and greasy roads made riding very hard and several riders withdrew. The main feature of the race was the fine riding by U. Dislcy, who is rapidly returning to the form that won him the provincial championship in iJo-t. He .not only won the time trial but also the scaled handicap. A new man. G. Knowles, rode well to annex second place. 'Die juniors went over a course of 11 miles, and the scratch rider, R. McEwen, rode very well to take both the , time trial ami sealed handicap. S. Webber, AV. Caldwell and AV. Carpenter showed good form, being very close up at the finish. Results arc as follows: — Senior Race. Time trial: 0. Dislcy, 1.34.21, I; G. Amcv, 1.34.26, 2; G. Senior Race to Huxford Unpleasant riding conditions were experienced on Saturday, and the Poneke club's seniors were tested for stamina in their 40-mile race for the Aldridge Cup. The juniors also had their longest journey this season when they contested a .23tniler. This race was a triumph for G. Stone (4), who won well, and also equalled Cunliffc (scr.) for fastest time. J. F. Couper (4) was second, and equal second fastest with A. Sparkes (scr.). The boisterous weather suited the Huxford brothers, for they accounted for first and second places. C. H. Huxford enjoyed his first win, this being his first season, while Alf is a consistent middledistance rider, and his second was well earned. Trouble befell the scratch group early in the contest, as Ulmer and Dutton collided and fell. Ulmer bad to withdraw witli a damaged machine, but Dutton, after effecting repairs, continued'on. and rode alone for the remaining distance. AV. Sinclair ami R. Loader escaped the crash, and, keeping the pace going, caught Scrimgeour and V. Evans (3J), who were with a group from the 5 and Gj-niinute riders. Loader withdrew a few miles from the finish, and Sinclair went on to ride the fastest race, taking Ihr. 46inin. 52sec. for the -40 miles, while N. Scrimgeour, who beat C. Clark (5) and Sinclair in the sprint for third place, recorded second fastest time. Results were as follow:— Senior: C. 11. Huxford (8), 1.53.40. .1; A. Huxford (64), 1.53.9, 2; N. CASH CLUB’S RACE The AVellington Casli Cycling Club held a 30-milc road race on Saturday afternoon. Conditions were adverse, as rain fell throughout the journey. Results were as follows: J. Martin (7min.), 1; I’. Doherty (4Jmin.), 2; R. AVakeham (7 min.), 3. Fastest times: J. Foote, Ihr. 23min.; G. Stavely, Ihr. 25min.
