Classic Melbourne Event OFFER TO NEW ZEALANDERS Hundreds of New Zealanders would welcome an opportunity of visiting Australia to see at historic Flemington racecourse the running of the Alelbourne Cup. the biggest handicap race in the Southern Hemisphere. To racing enthusiasts and the general public in both Australia and New Zealand the event is one of the highlights of the sporting and social year.' Such an opportunity will be offered in the course of another specially conducted tour which is now being arranged for New Zealanders by Air. AV. J. Heslehnrst, who has organised a number of successful tours in the past. Admission to the saddling paddock and lawn for the Cup meeting, as well as an opportunity to attend the Derby Day fixture, are by no means the only enticing features of the tour, which will last from October 19 to November IG. for it includes also a motor tour of New South AA’ales and A ietoria. In seven-seater, up-to-date cars, the party will make a four-day journey from Sydney to Alelbourne along the Prince’s Highway: an all-day tour of beauty spots in and around Alelbourne; a fiveday tour of the inland route from Alelbourne to Sydney: a two-day tour of the Blue Alountains and Jenolan Caves, and another of Newcastle and other northern points; an all-day trip on beautiful Sydney harbour and visits to its famous beaches, to Hawkesbury College and Io Koala Park. Over 2500 miles will be covered by motor, and theatre parties, entertainment and local trips will be arranged, with first-class hotel accommodation in Sydney and Melbourne. The inclusive cost is £SS. According to present arrangements. ,the tour will begin with the departure of the party by the Niagara on October 19. Sydney will be reached on October 22. and the party will stay at the Wentworth TIo tel. ' There will be time to see something of the life of a big city and the numerous attractive places in and around it before the party leaves for Alelbourne on October 25. Friday and Saturday in Alelbourne will lie free—ami Saturday is Derby Day. On Tuesday the visitors w-ill join in the excitement of Cup Day. leaving Melbourne next morning for another fascinating drive, by a differ ent route, back to Sydney. A nigh' will bo spent at Mount Buffalo, two al Canberra, the Federal city, and another at Jenolan Caves. Another day in Sydney will be followed by a visit to Newcastle, and a few more days will be spent in Sydney before the party leaves for New Zealand again on November IG.
