A 1 iominion 'honour, in model aeroplane flying has been awarded to Mr. W. C Munro, Invercargill. The Southland Model Aeroplane Club received advice that he had won the Nicholson trophy for the best flight of the 193637 season. The competition was for

rising off- the ground outdoor models.

Mr. Munro’s fuselage model rose from 1 the ground and flew for 15 minutes 15 seconds before passing out of sight in the sky. The previous best flight recorded was 11 minutes 55 seconds. The flight of Mr. Munro’s aeroplane has now been recognised as an official New Zealand record.
