WEDDING
Stuart —McKenzie
The wedding was solemnised recently by the Rev. J. Davie, at Knox Church, Masterton, of Catherine Doris, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John McKenzie, “Puke-Te,” Masterton. and John, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Stuart, "Runnymede,” Marton. The church was artistically decorated by friends of the bride with masses of hydrangeas and autumn foliage.
Mr. Carey presided at the organ. The bride, who w.-is escorted by her father, wore a simple gown of mushroom pink Alice, slightly Hared from the knees and falling into a long, graceful train, and which was finished with a silver girdle. Iler beautiful embroidered tulle veil was hold in place by a halo of orange blossom and she carried a shower bouquet of cream roses and palest pink earnations. Two maids attended the bride, her sister, Miss Joan McKenzie, and the bridegroom’s sister, Miss Nell Stuart. They were dressed alike in trained frocks of coronation red velvet cut on fitting linos, anti finished with a gold girdle and a gold-tipped rose at the neck line. Plaited gold head-bands and gold shoes were also worn, and their go! den-shaded bouquets were of chrysanthemums and autumn foliage. The flower girl. Miss Jeanette McKenzie, niece of the bride, made a dainty figure in a Victorian frock of red-sprigged organdie. She carried a pink posy. The best man was Mr. 11. P. Stuart, of Marton, brother of the bridegroom, and the groomsman was Mr. 11. B. .Stewart, also of Marton. The ushers nt the church were Messrs. J. D. McKenzie, H. K. Smith, R. McGovern and IT. McGovern.
After the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. McKenzie, assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Stuart, received the guests at a rcceq)tion held in the parish hall. The bride’s mother ■ wore a tailored violet ensemble with velour hat to match, while the mother of the bridegroom wore a simple navy suit with navy hat and gloves. They both carried bouquets of cyclamen and stock. Mrs. McGovern, grandmother of the bride, wore a black frock and coat and carried a bouquet of carnations and freesias.
After the reception, Mr. and Mrs. Stuart left by car, the latter wearing a navy tailored costume with navy peach bloom velour hat; and navy accessories.
