ODD JOBS

For July July is the odd-job time iu the garden. There are many tasks awaitingwilling hands on these short, sunny winter days. They are mostly pleasurable efforts to the man who does his daily routine work amici the noise and bustle of the city. , First of all, there is the pruning of the balance of late autumn-flowering shrubs to be attended to. Roses are pruned about the eml of this month. Fruit trees should be sprayed as a preventive against fungus diseases. Beds must soon be prepared for early spring vegetables; potatoes are now being planted, as are roses, fruit trees, deciduous decorative trees and shrubs, and the balance of the late springblooming annuals. Then there are weeds in the lawn, which have sprung up since the rain. Dig them out before their hold becomes too strong.
