GIFT AFTERNOON

Wearing a frock of blue cloque-erepe, Miss P. Kerr, Junction Street, Lower Hutt, was the hostess on Saturday at a very enjoyable afternoon for Miss Elsie Senior, whose marriage to Mr. Purvis Sisson takes place in August. Miss Senior’s frock was of floral marocaiu, Mrs. Senior wore maroon matalasse, and Mrs. McGechan was in fawn velvet. The drawing-room was bright with spring flowers and berries. A competition was won by Mrs. J. Smith. The guest received many beautiful and useful gifts, for w’hich she thanked her friends, and she also thanked her hostess for the pleasant afternoon. A delicious afternoon tea was served by the hostess. Among the guests were I’Mesdames 11. McGechan, J. McGechan, A. McGechan, F. Humphrey, W. Brownhill, M. Leighton, W. Horning, W. Gibson, P. Shaw, J. Smith, Misses A. Senior, G. Senior, M. Senior, M. Hayton, J. Smith, M. Adams, and IL McGill.
