PRIZES DISTRIBUTED
Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club The Governor-Generai, Lord Galway, distributed prizes at the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht, Club smoke concert on Saturday evening. The commodore of the club, Mr. W. P. Rollings, was chairman, and among the guests of honour, in addition to the GovernorGeneral, were the Acting-Prime Minister, Hon. P. Fraser, and the Mayor of Wellington, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop. Lprd Galway congratulated the Club on its successful season, and expressed the hope (hat it would be equally fortunate in the future. The mayor referred to the early history of the club, its Royal Warrant, and Its association with that great seaman Lord Jellicoe. He commented on the increase in the number of keel craft this season. Other speakers were Colonel J. J. Essen, Mr. W. T. Barton, Captain W. McLeod and Mr. R. N. Bennett. Entertainment was provided by Mr. J. Osborne, Mr. C. Burridge, Mr. Nornum Aitken. Mr. H. F. Wood and Mr. J. Dee. Mr. E. Deans played the piano. The prize-list was as follows:— Viola (Mr. C. Neal), first-class championship pennant, Carina Cup, Mills Cup, Turnbull Memorial Cup, Maxwell Cup; Nanette (Mr. J. C. Maddever), Mills Cup (2nd) ; Seabird (Mr. W. Percival), To Ruru Cup, Turnbull Cup (2nd), Bothamley Cup (2nd), Maxwell Cup (2nd) ; Lavina (Mr. A. Coleman), Winder Cup, Wylo prize, rosebowl, Kirkcaldie Cup. Moffat Cup (2nd) ; Impudence (Mr. C. D. A. Highet), 18ft. and under championship pennant, Grey Cup (2nd); Courier (Mr. L. Moore), Grey Cup, Idle Along championship pennant; Advance (Mr. R. Campbell), Moffat Cup; Mini (Mr. F. Harris), Bothamley Cup, Te Ruru Cup (2nd) ; Kitty (Mr. C. V. - Wagstfrffe), Wylo prize (2nd), rosebowl (2nd) ; Jean (Mr. T. R. H. Green), Kirkcaldie Cup (2nd).
