Decision For Retention By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, July 16. "I have pleasure iu informing you that it has been decided to retain the School of Engineering at Auckland and that the necessary funds for this year will be included in the department’s estimates,” Is the intimation conveyed by telegram from the Minister of Education, Hon. P. Fraser, to Mr. H. J. D. Mallon, president of the University College Council. The Minister asks that the contribution already secured be capitalised and applied to maintaining the School of Engineering. “We appreciate very deeply the decision of the Minister and the careful consideration of the problem on which he based it,” said Mr. Mahon, when commenting on the telegram.
