Wellington East Girls Have Double Win WAIRARAPA TEAMS’ DEFEAT In the annual basketball fixture between Wairarapa Girls' High School and Wellington East Girls' College A ind B teams, held in Wellington yesterday afternoon, Wellington scored a double win. On account of bad weather, the games were played in the winter show buildings. Teams were as follows:— Wairarapa A: J. Gemmel, M. Baskiville, M. Wilson. B. Renner (captain). A. Davie. M. McLaren, P. Baskiville. It. Manncll. N. Spiers. Wairarapa B: J. Hartmann M. Mount. D. Hathaway. A. Manion (captain), V. Hendry. E. Hanley. M. Dolan, M Wrigley, E. Shoosmith. Emergencies': O. Ross. E. McLaren. M. McLaren.

Wellington East A: N. Marshall (captain). B. Cutten. P. Taylor, M Finlayson. M. Norr'e, J. Wallace E. Broad. A. Knox, T. Smith. Wellington East B: K. Sargent, B Burton. J. Drurv. N. Binnie (captain i, P. Ashbolt. P. Humphries, D. Huggins. J. Dentice, J. Connell. Emergencies: N. Roberts, B. Rae, J Satterley. In the first half of the A match, the passing was a notable feature. Play moved quickly and evenly and rhe score at half-time was 6-alI. In the second half Wellington East showed better combination, and the match ended with a win for Wellington East by 18 goals to 8. In the B match Wellington East had the advantage throughout, and won by 12 coals to 4. Miss D. Davies was in charge of. the W’airarann teams, and Miss O. Dixon of the Wellington East teams. Players and the hostesses of the visiting teams, were the guests of the women’s auxiliary of the Parents’ Association of Wellington East College for luncheon and afternoon tea. The meals were served in the college cookery room, which was decorated with birch and golden spring flowers, and the colours of both schools. In the evening the teams, hostesses and school prefects were the guests of the pupils of Wellington East College at a picture party.
