Oamaru People Not Misled

By Telegraph—Press Association Christchurch, July 16. A denial that the Minister of Railways or the department had misled the people of Oamaru and failed in the foreshore protection work there, was issued by the Hon. D. G. Sullivan to-day, when referring to a recent published report of the borough council meeting. Mr. Sullivan pointed out that the mayor and all the councillors except one had expressed themselves quiie satisfied with the work done by the department. Mr. Sullivan recalled that the protection scheme was originally proposed by Mr. Furkert and endorsed by many leading engineers. He indicated that additional plant was being secured, -and he prophesied the successful accomplishment of a difficult task.
