BILLIARDS TITLE

World Championship “HHIE season has been so successful that x the Billiards Association and the Control Council are making ambitious plans for the autumn, and are eager to stage a world championship” (states the ‘‘Evening News” of March 2o). “It is hoped that Walter Lindrum will come to England to defend his title. He has been asked to cable his views. ‘‘lf Lindrum refuses to came. the council will still proceed with its plans for the championship. It is too early to say whaf the repercussions will be, but the possibility of having two world champions cannot be ruled out. One . reason for holding a championship and ignoring that held by Walter Lindrum is that Horace Lindrum will be able to compete.’’

The M.C.C. is to send a team to Canada this year, the first since 1907. The tram will tour Eastern Canada during August. Efforts are being made to prolong the visit, into September to permit a visit to the Vancouver side.
