Novel Extra at Australia League Game TMIE Australian Rules League in Sydney ha s introduced a fight to football in an effort to improve its gate receipts. . The league’s executive committee de- . elded to hold a six-round bout between Tod Morgan, former world’s junior lightweight champion, and Billy Fraser, a prominent Newtown lightweight, at Erskincville Oval on April 26. Morgan, who has taken a keen interest in Australian Rules, supervised the training of the South Sydney team last year, | and recently, in between the reserve grade curtain-raiser and the big match I between South Sydney and Newtown, a r’ng was carried out and deposited in the centre of the oval. George Simpson, an American boxer, refereed the bout. Mr. K<n G. Ferguson, secretary, said that this was an experiment in an attempt to improve attendances. While there was an increase last season, and the trial matches had been encouraging, the League considered that (he I high standard of play was not receiving I the patronage it deserved.
