Recommendations to Centres The council of the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association, at a recent meeting, discussed suggestions from the centres concerning the holding of trials for selecting the New Zealand team for the British Empire Games at Sydney next year. It was decided to make the following recommendations to the centres:— That Canterbury hold the New Zealand road championship in the second week of November. That each centre hold trials for all British Empire Games events prior to the last Saturday in November. That final trials be held in Auckland under the auspices of the N.Z.A.C.A. ami conducted by Auckland centre on the second Saturday in December. The 100kilometre “massed-start” trial to be held in the morning and the track events to be held in the afternoon and evening. The net profits of this meeting to be used to defray or toward defraying the expenses of selected visiting riders. Each centre to furnish to the association a full report on the results of provincial trials. The association’s selectors to be present at the final trials at Auckland. No nominee who is not present at the final trial to be eligible for selection. Canterbury centre to hold the national track elmmpionshii>s not later than January 15 so as to enable any necessary changes in nominations to be made before January 20, the final date for amendments to entries to the B.E. Games.
