_'l'lie Lower Hutt branch of the Baptist Women's Alissionary Union held an interesting meeting recently, when Aliss Bell, the Dominion president of the N.Z.8.W.A1.U. movement, paid a visit to Lower Hutt. Airs. Perry, president of the Lower Hutt branch, opened the meeting with prayer, and welcomed Aliss Bell. Aliss Bell stressed the importance of the work being done by Baptist missionaries in East Bengal. She told of some of tlie valiant efforts by the missionaries, who were doing their utmost to induce 60,000,0 DD “untouchable” Hindus (who arc about to renounce llinduisuj in favour of either Aloliannnedanisni, Sikhism, or Christianity), to embrace the Christian faith.
