TRADE DISCUSSIONS
New Suggestion by United States (Received May 8, 12.30 a.m.) London, May 7. A new aspect of the Anglo-American trade agreement to be discussed at the Imperial Conference concerns a suggestion from tlie United States that, instead of separate treaties with each Dominion, the Empire should be treated as an economic unit. It would constitute a new step in tlie Empire's constitutional development.
